PROGRAM BENEFITS:

PROGRAM STRUCTRE:
- your rowing skills are developed progressively over 3 levels
- each level consists of 20 hours of rowing tuition which will be completed over either:
- 5 weeks @ 2 sessions per week or
- 10 weeks @ 1 session per weekend
- Courses are conducted all year round and open everyone (minimum 17 years of age)

LEVEL 1
Level 1 introduces you to the sport of rowing. The classes are initially not workouts, but rather skill developing sessions. Participants are taught how to handle the boat on and off the water and the basics of the rowing stroke. This course will teach sweep oar rowing in a coxed eight.
Class size is limited to 9.

LEVEL 2
Level 2 progresses from the skills learnt in Level 1 and offers rowing in coxed quads and fours as well as coxless doubles. The aim is to improve the participant’s confidence and ability as well as an introduction to sculling technique.
Class size is limited to 6.

LEVEL 3
Level 3 progresses from the Level 2 Course and aims to improve the participant’s confidence and technique through rowing independently in a single scull. Upon completion of this course, rowers are encouraged to pursue membership to UQBC and be included in either the Social, Masters or Competitive Programs. Class size is limited to 4.
